Aller à l'Aéroport de Bordeaux-Mérignac 5 solutions

As your next trip date approaches, the question of transportation mode arises. How to choose among all the solutions the one that will be both the simplest, the most practical, and the most economical? It's not always easy to find the right balance and meet all your criteria! We help you weigh the pros and cons of 5 modes of transportation to get to Bordeaux Airport.

In this article

1. Direct shuttle from Bordeaux Saint-Jean station

If you're lucky enough to live in downtown Bordeaux and your tram line allows you to quickly reach Saint-Jean station, then the direct shuttle to the airport is a practical solution for you. It is the economical solution since the round trip will only cost you 16€ and practical since it operates 365 days a year! However, be sure to check that your flight schedules coincide with those of the shuttle, which is available from 8:45 am to 8:30 pm from the airport and from 7:45 am to 7:30 pm from the station. The downside? The trip to the station will not be the most comfortable if you have one or more suitcases and may be even less so if you are traveling with family.

2. The TBC network's Liane 1+ (Tram and Bus of the CUB)

Unlike the shuttle from Saint-Jean station, Liane 1+ is a city bus route with frequent stops between Saint-Jean station and Mérignac airport. The positive point is that it may be on your way, which saves you from taking multiple public transports to the station. Although it is economical (count 3.20€ for the round trip), Liane 1+ is dependent on road traffic in downtown Bordeaux. Currently under construction in many areas, due in part to the future launch of a fourth tram line, traffic quickly becomes congested, especially during rush hour (7:30 am to 9:30 am and 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm). If you opt for this solution, take no risks and plan for sufficient time for the trip (minimum 45 minutes and up to over 1 hour).

👉 Frequency: Liane 1+ passes every 10 minutes from Monday to Friday, from 5 am to 1:05 am (2:05 am on Thursdays and Fridays) from the station to the airport and from 5 am to 12:42 am (1:02 am on Thursdays and Fridays) from the airport to the station. Note that schedules are changed on weekends and holidays, and frequency is lower.

3. Hire a VTC taxi company

Gain comfort and simplicity by hiring a taxi to take you straight to Bordeaux Airport. Many companies are available from Bordeaux and its surroundings: Aero Taxi, Alliance Taxi Bordeaux, Taxis Girondins, Allocab, Naveco... the fare will be almost identical regardless of the company you choose, but feel free to contact them before your trip for a fare simulation request. Comfort certainly, practical if you are traveling with family, a little less so if your children are young (special request for the addition of a car seat, for example), on the other hand, the bill climbs since you will have to spend the tidy sum of 80€ for a round trip from Bordeaux city center.

4. Use your personal vehicle

Not all travelers to Mérignac airport necessarily live in Bordeaux itself or its surroundings. Some have no choice but to take their car on vacation. For this, Bordeaux Airport has 5 parking lots, more or less expensive and more or less far from the boarding gates. The duration of your stay determines the parking lot that will welcome you. For short stays, proximity parking lots have affordable prices. However, beyond 5 days, the bill will exceed 100€... a substantial budget to include in your vacation budget. For those who do not want to increase the bill, P4 Eco, located near the airport, offers very competitive prices. The only disadvantage, but not the least, is that you have to reach the airport via the shuttle, which runs every 20 minutes from the first to the last flight of the day. You make real savings but lose valuable time on the way there and back. Many solutions with shuttles exist around Bordeaux airport and offer very attractive rates. However, the problem remains the same, you will remain dependent on the passages and availability of shuttles...

5. Call a valet
