How to get to the Marseille-Provence Airport ?

Comment accéder facilement à l'Aéroport de Marseille-Provence ?

The Marseille-Provence airport, also known as the Marignane airport due to its location, is the main airport of the Marseille region. With over 9 million passengers in 2017, it ranks sixth among French airports.

The Marseille airport is composed of two terminals. Terminal 1 is divided into two parts accessible through halls A (formerly hall 1 and hall 2) and B (formerly hall 3 and hall 4). Terminal 2 (formerly MP2) is reserved for low-cost airlines. With a constantly increasing number of passengers, access and parking issues are on the agenda.

1. Public transportation 🚌

Numerous bus and coach lines are available for travelers departing from Marseille-Provence.

Five lines operated by Cartreize allow you to reach the airport from Aix TGV station, Marignane, Gignac-la-Nerthe, Martigues, or Salon-de-Provence.

You can also take one of the three LER lines Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur to Carpentras, Digne-les-Bains/Forcalquier, Sisteron/Gap, and Saint-Tropez. Finally, Bus de l'Étang's line 10 bus connects the town of Vitrolles to the Marseille airport.

For the people of Marseille, a shuttle is available from 4:30 am to midnight and provides a link between the city center and the airport for the modest sum of 8.30€. The journey takes 25 minutes, and the shuttle departs every 15 minutes.

2. Trains 🚆

If you want to reach Marseille-Provence airport by train, you will have to take the TER PACA from Toulon, Nîmes, Montpellier, Perpignan, or Avignon. Attention, departure/arrival is from the TER station in Vitrolles. A shuttle provides additional airport-station connection service (waiting time of 10 to 15 minutes for a 5-minute journey). Note: the shuttle price is included in the train ticket price.

3. Taxis 🚕

For more peace of mind, a traveler can call a taxi to quickly reach their terminal. The price varies depending on your point of departure, but it is approximately 50€ per trip, or 100€ round trip from the center of Marseille.

4. By car 🚗

The main access to Marignane airport is by road since only one out of seven passengers uses public transportation. You can mainly reach the airport area by the A7 motorway. This raises the question of parking your vehicle.

🅿️ Where to park?

To deal with the influx of travelers, ten parking lots welcome you day and night (or almost) to park your vehicle. How to find your way around? Your parking choice should be based on several factors: the length of your parking and the distance of the parking lot from the departure/arrival terminal. It's up to you to find the one that offers the best distance/price ratio.

Generally, parking lots P1, P6, and P3 are reserved for short and medium-term stays, while parking lots P7, Super Eco, and Extra Long are, as their names imply, suitable for long stays.

🅿️ Why choose?

Marseille Airport

That's the question we ask you! You're undoubtedly familiar with the valet profession in large hotels and restaurants, but did you know that you can enjoy the luxury of a valet at the airport? You're not dreaming; with Blue Valet, your valet awaits you at the drop-off area in front of your departure terminal, collects your keys, and takes care of parking your vehicle in our private and secure parking lot, directly near the airport. In the meantime, all you have to do is go to your boarding gate without worrying about parking! Upon your return, your valet will be waiting for you with your vehicle in front of your arrival terminal, ready to hit the road. With Blue Valet, you forget all the parking concerns: finding the right parking lot, finding a spot, getting to the terminal, carrying your luggage, taking a shuttle, etc. These are only distant memories!

A luxury at an affordable price since it costs 25€ for two days (when a P1 or P6 parking lot costs 34€), 35€ for three days of parking, and 75€ for ten! Thanks to our decreasing pricing policy, the longer you stay, the cheaper it is!

However, you still have the option of being accompanied by someone close to you, but at this price, why bother a loved one and lose your autonomy?
